DESCRIPTION

BCE provided comprehensive planning, design, and construction support to modernize the Roseburg Service Center historic Fire Warehouse complex while preserving its architectural character and supporting the operational needs of an active fire center. The project included a detailed occupancy and code compliance review to enable increased capacity to accommodate 20 additional employees, design of a new roofing system for the Main Warehouse, and a full renovation of the West Warehouse to accommodate three fire engines and their crews. BCE delivered integrated architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and historic preservation solutions, working closely with the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) to ensure compliance while maintaining the facility’s historic integrity. Project services were completed in phases and included a PreDesign and Concept Plan Report with code analysis, demolition plans, concept designs, and cost estimates, followed by a Scoping Report and fully developed construction documents at 60%, 95%, and 100% construction documents. During construction, BCE provided ongoing support through RFI responses, submittal reviews, site inspections, and record drawings. Additional services included hazardous materials testing and security system design. Through careful coordination and phased implementation, BCE delivered a compliant, functional, and resilient facility that supports critical fire service demands while honoring the building’s historic significance.
