BCE delivered comprehensive design services for a new 4-foot-wide gravel pedestrian trail in Alaska for the U.S. Forest Service, enhancing access while preserving the natural landscape. The project included trail alignment rerouting, geotechnical and wetlands assessments, and close coordination with the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (ADOT&PF) for segments adjacent to and crossing the Seward Highway, as well as a review of the Alaska Railroad right of way. The resilient design integrated erosion control measures, rock steps, strategic reroutes, and elevated trail sections atop new riprap to withstand highwater events. This project reflects BCE’s expertise in sustainable trail design and its dedication to building durable infrastructure in environmentally sensitive and technically complex settings.
